Meet Trina Turk at Design SF

What do you wear to interview one of the most stylist people in the state? That's the question that's been plaguing me since I found out I will be sitting across from the dazzling designer Trina Turk for the 2012 Design San Francisco Keynote.

Turk does it all—fashion, fabrics, home accessories—and she has managed to stay true to her signature style while continuing to blossom creatively. Case-in-point: her latest line of indoor/outdoor fabrics for F. Schumacher. Clicking though the patterns they are at once unmistakably Trina, yet many of  the innovative, playful shapes and colors have taken me completely by surprise (in the best possible way).

This is the reason why, when I was tasked with tracking down the perfect candidate for this year's Keynote for Design SF—the hotly anticipated week of product reveals and showroom celebrations at the San Francisco Design Center—Turk came to my mind almost immediately. And after last year's spicy event with Jeff Lewis of Bravo's Flipping Out, I knew we had to go big or forget it.

So on February 1 at 10 am, Turk will sit down with me at the SFDC Galleria for a frank, funny and insightful conversation about finding your style, building your brand and why California is still the land of risk-takers and tastemakers.

The event will fill up fast, especially considering the Trina Turk-patterned goodies that will be given to each of the attendees, so RSVP now here

Once you've done that, you can help me with the pressing problems of what to ask her and what on earth to wear? I'm thinking something Turk-designed for sure, but the number of stunning dresses have me paralyzed. What do you think?

And, not to pass all my homework off on you, but what would you ask Trina? I will pick one question from the comment section to ask her during the Keynote. More if it turns out we have an audience full of aspiring Katie Courics.

Thanks for the advice, and I hope to see you there!

Can't wait for this! SFDC and CH+D host the best events! You could ask Trina if she plans on expanding her home line...

Trina is amazing! Where does she find all her inspiration from? What are her aesthetic reference points??

Trina started with dresses, but she's developed an amazing ability to create well-tailored pants that suit a diverse range of body types. What are her secrets to making a more universally flattering pant, and why aren't more industry designers doing similar work?

What does she have planned to expand her home fabrics line? Would love a Trina-inspired living room!

I reserved space for this and accidently deleted my message to print the tickets. Can you send them to me again
thanks Mary Ann Scolari & Shirlee Walker scolari7@aol.com or fax 408-559-8514

Will do! Thanks for the RSVP!

Where does she go, and what does she do to visually recharge and get inspired. Rose Bowl, High Sierras, nightclubs?

If she could work with one designer in history for 6 months, be part of their life, their 'scene' and witness their process, who would it be?

Wear the turquoise one! Lovely color.

Hmm, I wonder who Anonymous is, could it be Trina's marketing department?

I agree, the turquoise dress is so fun. Please ask Trina how she continues to get inspiration for her amazing fabrics, both clothing and residential.
