I would like to personally thank Erin and Kristen for choosing Velocity Art and Design for this feature. We always love working with great sources like California Home and Design.
Kurt - Velocity Art and Design

Velocity Art and Design has closed it's doors and website with, I am assuming, hundreds of open and unshipped orders. They are not communicating with anyone regarding the charges on their accounts/cards with no merch to show for it. What happened???? Poor business practices if you ask me.

what happened?? i tried to access their website and it's closed?? any news on whether it is defunct for good?

phone disconnected, website shut down, facebook page shut down...what happened???

it is; I am not sure what's taking place with orders but John, the owner, is a great guy and I believe he wouldn't do anything but the right thing for customers waiting on their orders. Very sad though. Seattle and anyone who loves beautiful goods just lost an exceptional resource.

Sorry he's not-he has screwed alot of people-took deposits the day before he shut everything down and bolted

John is NOT doing the right thing, and as time goes on it's just getting worse! I'm sure he's nice, but he's also committed fraud, theft, and is now trying to hide in Seattle so he can avoid having to face anyone. The right thing would be for him to have refunded money before he shut down his website/store. Instead, he took the money and now expects everyone to clean up the mess!

i am one of those customers who did not receive an order & has not been reimbursed...if anyone knows of someone to contact i would appreciate it. as stated above all means of contact are closed.

So am I. Anyone heard anything yet?

i have a gift card with a substantial amount on it to Velocity. would love to know what's up with them, if there's potential for reimbursement.

I have several gift cards to Velocity Art and Design that were given to me for Christmas that I was hoping to put towards the purchase of a George Nelson lamp. I called in January to inquire about the product since almost all of their GN products had been removed from the website. I was told they were re-stocking and would be available in February. Yesterday I walked by the store and was surprised to find it had closed. I went home and looked online. Website also shut down. I've instructed my family who gave me the cards to contact their credit card companies and see if they have any protection against such things. Hopefully they will get their money back. Next, I'm contacting the Better Business Bureau. Is it possible that the employee that I spoke to back in January had no idea that the store was going to close in less than a month? It seems like the owner, John Tusher, got into some trouble and just took off. Lots of complaints on Yelp, too.

Sorry But John Tusher is not a great guy-he purposely shut everything down overnight with the knowledge he was ripping off clients and vendors

Has anyone had luck with their credit card companies?

I am another customer that paid $384 on my credit card for an item that I still have not received. I placed the order on 12 January 2012 and was given no notice that the store would be closing. Has anyone gotten a refund on their credit cards?

In reference to my comment above, my credit card company just gave me a full refund. They are now pursuing the company and hopefully John Tusher will be found.

i worked for him years ago and left due to his odd behavior. this comes as no surprise. i assume if your orders are unfulfilled, you can dispute the charge with your credit card company.

Everyone, contact your credit card companies immediately - John took the money and ran.

So glad I finally found some information on WTF happened. I was given a gift certificate there 6 months ago and now I need to contact the gift giver so they can contact their credit card company. ugh. pathetic. Gives the entire industry a bad name.

this so sucks. i have a $450 gift certificate that i was just about to spend. then found this. i guess he can stay in a nice place for a night with it while he's on the run.
