Feast on the Beast of Events at Wine Country’s Festival del Sole, July 13-22

Now that you’re done celebrating your independence it’s time to feast on the beast of events at Napa’s seventh annual Festival del Sole (one of must-see events happening this July in Wine Country), for some feisty fireworks of a different varietal. This year’s fest serves up everything from mezzo-sopranos and celebs to prima ballerinas and acoustic soul, with no shortage wine flowing.

Venues are as diverse as vineyards and castles to the Jarvis Conservatory, a whimsical wonder of a space. You don’t have to be a VIP or Allegro Pass member to dance into the sunset at these snazzy events. Snag tickets while you can!

We can’t think of a better way to wake up not only your taste buds but your body with Yoga in the Vineyard led by winemaker-cum-yoga instructor Nicole Abiouness who will wow with scenic stretching followed by a rosé tasting. We’re jazzed about the premier of 24 Hour Plays set to feature such big screen and tube talents as former Sex and the City’s Chris Noth (Mr. Big), Hugh Dancy, Minnie Driver, Dennis Haysbert and Michael Keaton who will act with abandon to create and then perform four short plays set to musical interludes from Vivaldi's Four Seasons. The fact they’ll tackle this feat in 24 hours makes these stars’ sparkle last even longer. July 14, 5:30 p.m., Lincoln Theater, Yountville

While free lunches are a thing of the past gratis concerts live on at Festival del Sol’s Bouchaine Young Artists Series where you’ll get a purview into some rising star musical talents. Tickets are free but reserve in advance.

Seduction, Smoke and Music—could it get anymore scintillating? It just might when this theatrical affair takes center stage in a depiction of the love story of composer Frédéric Chopin, and George Sand, the infamous cigar-smoking French novelist and feminist. The action unfolds beneath the stars at Castello di Amorosa. July 19, 6:30 p.m.

Friday’s Dance Gala brings the first-ever Napa Valley appearance of the Russian Bolshoi Ballet accompanied by the Russian National Orchestra. Snatch seats while you can. July 20, 6 p.m., Lincoln Theater, Yountville

Even though the fest is winding down, San Francisco’s grooving Alma Desnuda keeps kicking things up. Soak up the scenery and some smooth jiving tunes as you sip vino on the lawn at St. Helena’s Long Meadow Ranch & Farmstead. July 21, 4:30 p.m.
