Dolores Park is the most wonderfully alive and diverse park in the state!

I love Point Isabel Off Leash Dog Park

I have always liked this riverside park along the San Joaquin River in Northwestern Merced County near the farming community of Hilmar. The park is surrounded by acres of beautiful green vinyards and Willow and Cottonwood trees that line both banks of the river. A large lawn and picnic area has abundant room for afternoon bbq's, games and relaxing. An adjacent bridge high above the park and vinyards allows passengers too busy to stop the opportunity to visually enjoy this verdant and special rural park.

Golden gate park -

Palisades Park in Santa Monica. Ocean views, sunshine and palm trees!

Glen Canyon Park in San Francisco!
A great piece of mother nature in an
urban setting.

Alta Plaza Park. Beautiful views and small dogs friendly!

I only just discovered this park and I love it. It has a beach, the Bay, squirrels and snakes and fishing and parking and BBQ pits and plenty of parking. The rangers are great. And it is in the City! So sad it is one of the parks that is going to close. Check it out while you still can.

This is a place where the entire family can enjoy the delights of their life: basking on sun-dappled lawns, watching baby ducks, swinging on swings, listening to upbeat music, sipping a beverage of choice (yes...even wine). And, if you have people who want more action, across the streets from the park is fun shopping, great food (at a variety of prices)...and maybe even the opportunity to meet a very eligible, but lonely Sonoma bachlor/bachlorette!!

One of my favorite neighborhood parks is the Uptown park, in the Uptown end of downtown Oakland. It's a great place to sit, relax and people watch. Students from the Oakland School of the Arts go there to social and have lunch. Neighborhood residents go there to hang out and chat. It's an amazing little oasis in Oakland!

where else but dolores park - the true promise of the mixed-up transformative nature of SF

McLaren Park is the second largest urban park in San Francisco and is a wonder of diversity. There is a natural areas section that has been dedicated to native species restoration. Trails run through the natural areas from the top of McLaren through forested lands and out to the base of the park at Persia Street. On the north side of McLaren are a wealth of beautiful picnic areas, roads to cycle, fantastic views of San Francisco, ponds, landscaped playing fields, the Jerry Garcia Amphitheater, dog parks, a redwood forest, tennis courts and more. It is an amazing urban gem.

Lafayette Park in Pacific Heights is the best! I love that you can see almost every breed of dog there is, and there's a great playground for the little ones! The picnic tables and both shaded and sunny lawns make it a great spot for all sorts of activities. There are even tennis courts. My favorite part is that this beauty is only 2 blocks away!

the Lafayette Reservoir is the best sanctuary!

On a cliff overlooking the ocean... nice

I try to make it to Runyon Canyon Park in LA at least a few times a week with my dog. Its a great place to work out, enjoy the views and escape from the rush of the big city below. The people watching is amazing -- especially during the day when all the regular folk are at work and the models and actors and such come out to play!

Dolores Park!!Beautiful views...

Not sure if its considered a park but Stern's Grove is almost forest-like and wonderful.
