Surf's Up: Hotel Pasea Claims Its Spot in Huntington Beach
Imagine a place right off of the Southern California coast. Now add in some high-level design, a wildly impressive art collection, a rooftop lounge with swings, a massive pool, and a few swan floaties. Sound like the beachside getaway you’ve been dreaming about? Wake up - it’s real. It’s Huntington Beach’s latest, Hotel Pasea.
Located next to the area’s new Pacific City hub, the property stands tall, showing off wraparound balconies and an architectural build that borrows from the beach.
Upon entry, you’ll find yourself in a space that’s overflowing with natural light--from above, from the left, from the right. Guided by the casual cool Huntington Beach vibes, Hotel Pasea intertwines luxury and Surf City with bold moves like oversized rustic lobby tables that share the scene with brightly colored throw pillows and rugs.
This place is all about seamless transitions; move from the lobby shoppe (where you’re sure to meet the on-site Frenchie, grab a cup of coffee, and score fun objects and souvenirs) to the Balinese-inspired spa, Aarna, to the full-service and aptly designed eatery, Tanners. The fluid movement of spaces is evident through the layout and style as Aarna features deep, luscious woods, bright white linen fabrics, warm lighting, and a transformative feel that invites relaxation. Whereas Tanners speaks to what any luxe-loving hotel guest looks for--exquisite design and equally magical fare.
Details are everything at Tanners with the downstairs open kitchen and edgy elements like a chandelier comprised of old motorcycle chains, to the year-round vacation feel on the rooftop rum bar that’s marked by a tree sprouting out a beautiful lighting situation and peppered with cozy seating and views of the Pacific.
And while there’s no shortage of enjoyment outside, there’s much to rave about in the rooms as well. A calming palette of gray, aqua, and white dictates the scene as much as the beachside backdrop just outside your balcony. Sustainable wooden design along clean modern lines and mirrors in all of the right places give the space serious edge. Don’t overlook the amenities either--cozy hooded robes from Frette, signature Pasea flip flops to replace slippers (this is the beach after all), Fresh skincare and the ideal bar setup for a sunset sip or sunrise coffee. The beds are cozy and the art that serves as your headboard is welcomed.
Pasea is all about the experience too. But not just any experience--the authentic HB experience. This includes yoga on the lawn (facing the beach of course), calling upon a beach butler to take you down to the surf, designing your own surfboard, renting bikes for rides along the beach, and of course, hitting up the state-of-the-art gym.
There’s a new kid in Surf City and they’ve got this beach living thing down. Go on in, the water’s fine.
