West Adams Welcomes Lindström Rugs

If you live in or visit Los Angeles and haven’t yet visited West Adams, it’s time to put the neighborhood on your itinerary of places to explore. Located just south of the 10 and east of Culver City, the area has been undergoing a renaissance with new galleries, restaurants, mixed-used projects and stores opening daily.

It’s this excitement that drew Lindström Rugs to open their flagship location here.

Says founder Erik Lindström, “the area surrounding this new location has a buzz and an energy stemming from the design community, both within Los Angeles and beyond it. We wanted to tap into that culture, and use this creative energy to continue driving the brand forward.” With neighbors that include Lorcan O’Herlihy, Rios Clementi Hale, Peter Dunham, and Atelier de Troupe, this once overlooked area has become a sought after and well-respected design destination.

The interior of the 6,000 square foot industrial-style space, composed of two buildings connected by a large central courtyard and washed in matte black paint, is completely hidden from street view. Entering the showroom feels like entering a magical cave. Here the jewels are the incredible collection of rugs, many designed by Lindström himself, who has a background in both interiors and furniture design.

With a creative focus on organic and timeless design, the inspiration for the designs found here are derived primarily from the natural world, using flora, fauna, landscape and man-made objects as inspiration. Witness Inkblot (inspired by Rorschach’s psychological testing method), Geode (inspired by the earth’s changing forms), Geometric (an assortment of both classical and contemporary patterns), and Epidermis (comprised of images of animals, insects, reptiles, and the human body) as well as Lindström’s collaboration with influential designers including Karim Rashid. Each piece is hand-made with a heavy, lustrous pile and uniquely rich colors

The shop will also carry select vintage furniture & lighting, host quarterly art openings, wellness events, and act as a venue for guest lectures.
