La Cienega’s Downtown Set To Close November 1

It’s no surprise that one of the La Cienega Design Quarter’s most revered vintage decor and accessories shop is called Downtown. After all, as Petula Clark so famously sang, “Downtown, no finer place for sure”. What’s surprising is that the venerable shop is set to close November 1st.

“It has been a tremendous honor and experience to be part of the Los Angeles interior design community for more than 20 years,” says Robert Wilson, who founded the shop alongside his partner David Serrano. The two will retire to their home in Merida, Mexico which was recently featured in Architectural Digest.

Luckily, their Downtown Classics Collection, signature designs inspired by classic pieces and unique finds, including their iconic Luna Globe Chandelier, will continue under the direction of Onik Agaronyan, who has been the production manager for the collection for the past ten years.

Downtown will participate in the 2nd annual La Cienega Design Quarter Sidewalk Sale on October 5 and 6. From now through November 1, all vintage products will be discounted 50%-75%.
