The shop hosted twelve exhibitors—some of whom we already knew and loved, and some who were new to us.
I immediately wanted a whisper-pink card wallet from Materials + Process. Designer Christine Marcelino sources her leather in Napa Valley and stitches clean, quiet carrying cases for today's technology. I was also excited to see the new Integral desk from Studio Chad Wright, a piece he debuted in Milan a few months ago but was on display last night for the first time in the US. My third obsession? The jewelry from Yield Design's Rachel Gant. Launched just last month, her line makes use of (for example) German lucite beads and estate-sale gold chains for the fresh new designs that I was ready to snap up.
I also got the inside scoop on Form Factors, a design pub crawl of sorts that launches this year during S.F.'s Design Week. From June 21 - 30, more than 25 design and retail locations throughout the city will open their doors to host events and showcase the city's creativity. There's going to be an event in your neighborhood, whether it's at Foggy Notion in the Richmond, The NWBLK in the Mission, or newcomer The Future Perfect in Pac Heights. We'll be swinging by lots of the open houses.
