While IKEA occasionally has some fabulous, reasonably priced gems, we usually find their basic items could use a little spiffing up. This DIY helps you transform a generic wooden kitchen cart into a chic and fun focal point in just a few easy steps.
One of our favorite things about this DIY is you can personalize your cart's accessories according to your needs. Not a big drinker? Skip the bottle opener. Want more storage? Add additional hooks. "EAT" doesn't feel like your thing? Write something else.
Huge thanks to Sibylle at Funkytime for letting us share her project!
BEKVAM IKEA kitchen cart (or any other solid wood cart)
Determine where you will place your hooks and bottle opener, and the text you would like written on the front. You can download the font used in this tutorial here!
Paint your cart with two coats of white paint. When it's dry, stencil the letters on the front of the cart with a pencil and paint them in.
Attach your hooks and bottle opener, and enjoy!
