Secret Sources: Diana Vincent of High Camp Home

You could say designer Diana Vincent is somewhat of a glamping (you know—glamorous camping) expert. Her design studio and flagship store, High Camp Home, is based in Lake Tahoe, where glamping isn't just a trend, it's a way of life. Rustic, modern and chic, HCH takes the edge off communing with nature, merging all the comforts of home with the splendor of the great outdoors. And now that Vincent has recently expanded the biz to include an e-commerce site,, all dwellings—from city cribs to beachfront bungalows—can boast all the best of mountain living, just a mouse-click and a UPS delivery truck away. Here, Vincent reveals her secret sources for her favorite glamping essentials. Think of these as crib notes for the roughing-it impaired.

1. I personally can’t get enough out of the Glamping Company's striped Strawberries and Cream Bell Tent. It oozes big-top fun.

2. If a tent isn't your bag, check out the L'il Bear Teardrop Trailer Rental from Vacations In A Can. This vintage trailer features a bear-themed interior, with insulated walls, interior lights, and a galley light. Rental includes kitchenware, a 2-burner propane stove, one propane canister, and bedding. Glamping doesn't get much easier than that!

3. High Camp Home is where you turn glamping into a high-style experience. Our Twig stool will meld right into the natural surroundings. Scatter some of our jute lanterns around your tent for a candlelit effect (without the fire danger). No matter how rugged you may be, special touches like forged-iron roasting forks take entertaining to a sophisticated level. Don't forget your portable picnic table and your stainless steel stemless wine glasses to complete your dining experience. After the sun goes down, keep warm with a classic red-check wool throw.

4. If you have anything to plug in (like a hairdryer!) you will need a portable generator. Target has so many at a reasonable price point. I like this one.

5. Sofia Sparkling Wine comes in these super-stylish pink mini cans, complete with bendy straws. They're the very definition of a good time.
