Industry insiders on the hunt for unique high-end design products often end up in one place: Resource Furniture. With showrooms in nine major cities across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, the innovative company has a reputation for curating quality products from around the globe while remaining strongly committed to sustainability and employee and client satisfaction. As the Los Angeles showroom manager, Christine Salzer brings humor, insight, and years of experience to the SoCal location. Learn more about Salzer and Resource Furniture in our Q&A below.
1. What makes Resource Furniture different from other companies?
We are the go-to source for cutting-edge, multi-functional living systems that support the shift towards more efficient, flexible housing. Not only are our furniture offerings innovative, but they are made with the highest-quality materials and are built to last.
2. Why are sustainable practices such an important part of Resource Furniture’s production process?
We pride ourselves in offering truly sustainable furniture, which means it is high quality and supports a lifestyle of reduced energy and resource needs, rather than furniture that winds up in a landfill after a few short years. One of the best – if not the best – way to reduce our carbon footprints is to reduce the physical footprints of our homes. Smaller homes produce less operational carbon emissions. By increasing the functionality of a space with multifunctional furniture, less square footage is required and in turn, a more sustainable lifestyle. Everything we offer is CARB-2 compliant.
3. What sets the Los Angeles showroom apart from your other spaces?
Our showroom matches more of an LA vibe in terms of finishes and fabrics compared to the other showrooms.
4. How do you completely unwind?
I pull down a CLEI wall bed and take a nap on one of the comfortable, breathable, non-toxic, non off-gassing, memory foam mattresses!
5. What’s the worst pre-showroom job you’ve ever had and why?
I worked at a coffee shop in a rest area on a major highway. You’ll never meet crankier people than weary highway travelers.
6. What’s your favorite recipe?
My husband and I make this Roast Chicken recipe often and it always turns out great.
7. Create your perfect playlist for us.
8. Would you rather shop new or vintage?
9. First celebrity crush?
I can’t remember, my first but my current is Milo Ventimiglia.
10. What’s your hidden talent?
11. Best restaurant in your area?
Ostrich Farm in Echo Park, Los Angeles.
12. SF or LA?
