Completed in 2012 for a dynamic couple who designed the interiors themselves, architect Charles Barnett and team rose to the challenge of making the 4,000-square-foot home feel as if it’s floating while maintaining ultimate privacy. Check out the full feature in our summer issue!
From sunrise to sunset, the views from this sublime San Anselmo residence are everlasting. The structure itself serves as a bond between two views: Mount Tamalpais to the south and the distant hills to the north.
The cleverly constructed indoor/outdoor spaces connect the two views into one dramatic space, allowing effortless transition between the south terrace and north garden. The Sinaloa limestone floors from ASN kept a consistent color tone with all the finishes and stucco. While the 12' high fleetwood doors allow the entire living structure to open to the outdoors.
Barnett and his team worked closely with the clients to select finishes and fixtures that would further bring the outdoors in.
Aside from using Fleetwood Doors and Windows, the architect brought in Western Red Cedar for the ceiling and a stunning Sinaloa limestone from Egypt for the floors.
