Ever since earning her master’s degree from UC Santa Barbara’s Bren School of Environmental Science & Management in 2001, homeowner Helene Marsh knew that one day, if the opportunity presented itself, she would build her own green home. In 2007, when she and her family moved to Marin County, her dream began to take shape. Marsh worked with architect Lewis Butler of Butler Armsden Architects. Butler took the lead on architectural concept; Marsh took the lead on the science. The end product was this LEED Platinum home.
