Inside A Hong Kong Townhouse Designed With Lavish Detail

When it came to the design of this 4,800 square foot townhouse located in an exclusive hilltop enclave overlooking Hong Kong's Deep Water Bay, interior designer Pamela Babey's vision was, as she describes it, "as if the Ferragamos or Fendis moved to Hong Kong." Working with a concrete shell and few limitations, Babey, who is a co-founder of San Francisco interiors firm BAMO, created a sumptuous neoclassical and Baroque home inspired by the palaces of Rome. At center is a marble stair with hand-forged ironwork and a hand painted de Gournay wallpaper mural that rises from ground floor to top level—just one of the many stunning elements in this elegant yet whimsical home.
