One of several idea homes featured at Modernism Week, the Social House resided in a newly-built Desert Eichler home. With interiors by Bobby Berk Interiors & Design, it demonstrated how mid-century style works for today.
At the forefront of Berk’s mind was the knowledge that the home would be used for events and parties rather than for day to day living. “The challenge is making a show house look amazing while still making the space usable for parties. It needed to work so that even when people were sitting and moving stuff around, it still looked good. I try to limit the layers — not so many pillows on the sofa — so that it always looks good, whether in person or in photos.” Here the CH103 Sofa, CH101 Lounge Chair, and CH106 coffee table.
