Martin Fenlon Architecture
Architect Martin Fenlon carves out a new space for his family within the framework of a 1920s bungalow in Mount Washington.
“I wanted to redo the front to make the house look contemporary,” says Fenlon, “Tearing out the gabled roof left a triangular opening, which we replaced with a skylight, so you see a echo of the old roof. I wanted to do something modern but something that was still a nod to the old house that the neighbors would like.” The grey house to the right, most recently zoned as a cafe, will eventually be redone; it functions as the office for Fenlon’s architectural practice.
