When it came time for Marlien Reinmeister of Le Catch to redo her office, she called on Alex Reid of The Studio at One King’s Lane.

Alex’s first tip is to steal your palette from your favorite pieces of art. A highlight of Marlien’s collection is a drawing created by Donald “Drawbertson” Robertson which portrays her in a cape. The piece became the foundation for the office’s palette of tans, grays, black, and pops of pink. The photograph of New York taken by Marlien’s twin sister is another favorite; “It really captures the city through her eyes, which are also my eyes in a way, since we’re identical.” Other pieces are used casually. Marlien loves the sensibility this gives the space: “The leaned art has a sense of undoneness; it’s not completely perfect, almost louche. That’s sort of how I dress.”
