Cool down this summer at the City of Angels' hottest watering holes. A number of LA's hot spots offer day passes to their sultry spots for non-guests, but for those that don't, a sexy poolside seat is well worth the cost of a quick weekend stay.

With its nautical color theme and cozy cabanas the pool area at the London West Hollywood Hotel is one of the top spots in the city to while away the hours on a hot summer day. The 10th floor rooftop pool offers stunning 360-degree views of the city. Grab a cocktail, cool down with a chilled lavender-scented washcloth and snack on bites from Rooftop, the poolside eatery from celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay. If you're really looking to spurge, shell out for one of the four cabanas. At around $275 for six hours, you'll be lounging in luxury.

This 1939 Art Deco hotel is typically praised for its Tamie Adaya-design interiors (the hotel went through a major renovation in 2008), but the outdoor Courtyard is deserving of some attention as well. Featuring a tiered pool area and nautical decor elements, Hotel Shangri-La has quickly become a local favorite. Weekend DJs make sure the party keeps going all summer long.
