Guest Curator: Carrie Ann Inaba's Favorite Animal-Inspired Decor Pieces

This month, we asked Dancing with the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba to share some of her favorite animal-inspired décor pieces for the home. This Hawaii native and California resident is the founder of The CAI Animal Project, a foundation dedicated to supporting the rescue, welfare and well-being of animals, so we wanted to give her the opportunity to highlight cruelty-free products that would look great in a California home.

Ajax Lounge Chair from Oly Studio

Oly Studio has a few great animal-inspired pieces.  I love the animal feet on this lounge chair, and I would do it in a darker fabric with silver legs.

Small Hilary Zebra Beach from Mecox (in dark brown with Zebra Fabric)

Mecox has a lot of animal-inspired pieces that I absolutely love.  They support animal rescue and have beautiful animal print fabrics.

I love this!  Cool, modern and subtle in its borrowing from nature’s perfection.

I find this statement lighting piece to be quite sensual.

Antler Aluminum Table from Z Gallerie

This is a fun piece!  I prefer creative thinking and taking inspiration from animals instead of a table made with real antlers.

92006 Modern Luxury Demi Wing Chair from Bolier Showroom

Inspired by the wings of a bird, I appreciate this chair’s simplicity, but unique proportions.  It's a little lower than normal with a higher back.

Ayi Faux Cowhide Rug

Featuring a realistic shape and print, this animal-friendly rug shows the beauty of nature.

Zebra Wood Countertops by J. Aaron

Zebra wood is one of my favorite types of wood, either for countertops, tables or floors.  It's a beautiful wood with so much visual texture.

Massoud Furniture “Lagoon” Storage Cube from Horchow

A great accent piece for extra storage with Crocodile embossing.

Lotus Home in Studio City, CA has a nice variety of animal-inspired pieces, and I shop there all the time!

I have these yellow ottomans in faux leather, and I ADORE THEM.  I move them from room to room, and they add energy and contrast to any room.
