Open House Obsession: Ashley Olsen's House in Hancock Park

461 North Mansfield Avenue, Hancock Park, $1.695M
This 1926 Spanish house last sold in 2010 for $1.399M– meaning its previous owner, former child TV star/famous twin and now fully adult clothing designer Ashley Olsen took a $176K loss in addition to the cost of her renovations. It's not clear she ever lived in the house. There's some speculation she was dipping her toes in the rehab business (backstory and old images at Curbed LA.) The current owners have toned down some of the hard edges, replacing hardscape with lawn and painting the trim an old-school acid green. The house retains its romantic '20s Los Angeles vibe.
