New Design Within Reach Studio Boasts Hands-On Approach To Shopping Mod
We are so jazzed to hear that Potrero Hill is welcoming a brand-new – though not unfamiliar - decor staple to the San Francisco Design Center area: a fresh, sparkling Design Within Reach showroom designed by Sayigh Duman Architects, LCC, Light Studio LA, and 2x4.
This mega-store that specializes in authentic mid-century modern designs replaces the three others in the city (the Pacific Heights, Jackson Square, and previous Potrero Hill spots) and clocks in at 20,000 square feet, one of the largest DWR showrooms to date– plus, it has its own parking lot for buyers who are schlepping everything home, including the kitchen table.
Bask in the rays of the Light Cloud, a super sweet lighting installation that greets visitors upon entrance to the showroom (see opening image). Lanterns, sputniks, and spherical light fixtures float overhead as guests peruse the Design Library Swatch Walls. Here, you can run your hands over the textures of 500 tiles, upholstered in fabrics and leathers available for DWR products. These mosaic walls span 60 feet of colorful textile goodness.
Sit and stay awhile in the Dining Test Lab , where you can Goldilocks the 70 different chair designs to find one that is just right.
Check out different room layouts with 30 full-room vignettes that showcase furniture pieces exclusive to DWR, as well as iconic 20th-century modern shapes – and don’t forget top pick up luxe bedding in gorgeous colors and abstract patterns.
Stay tuned for the installation of a DWR San Francisco Garden (outfitted with a beautiful array of plants suited specifically for the Potrero microclimate), a private client showroom, and office and café solutions for your biz.
