Be Still Our Beating Hearts, the Macfee Memorial Day Market is Here

Think your only option for scoring a great deal this Memorial Day weekend is at a blah big-box store? We’ve got a better idea. Catherine and Justine, mother-daughter duo behind the award winning Catherine Macfee Interior Design, are hosting a three-day, hybrid flea-market-sidewalk-sale that just might go down as the shopping extravaganza of the summer.

After years of designing and staging interiors, the Macfees have amassed quite an impressive stockpile of fabulously curated pieces, and they figure it’s time to let the hundreds of items go to a good home. This weekend their downtown Truckee design studio will be transformed into sale headquarters and filled to the brim with everything from brand new, never been used pieces, to incredible one-of-a-kind vintage, and antique goods.

Since the items come directly from their personal collection, you can expect to peruse a mix of treasures that are not only priced at a discount, but not usually available to the public. From gorgeous leather armchairs, to rustic woven baskets, to industrial found objects, the market feels perfectly representative of the Macfee’s luxe, artisanal style.

Can’t make it to Tahoe this weekend? All hope is not lost. The Macfee’s are just launched a curated sale of their Memorial Day market pieces on Chairish. Inspired by their experience of designing fabulous retreats throughout California, the Mountain Coastal Collection is live now and full of handpicked items we’d love to call our own. Although a summer vacay isn’t on our calendar this year, jus a quick peek at the collection makes us yearn for sea breeze and a little mountain air.
