Warm woods, a carefully curated selection of new and vintage furniture and accessories, and a palette of rich leathers and deep-toned fabrics create a space that is at once modern and cozy. The kitchen was created by Secto Design.

The home revolves around a pool that stretches out to the end of the property. Sliding doors open the home to the outdoors. Decks and terraces provide multiple opportunities to enjoy the surrounding landscape.

The office and the gym, which the client uses during the day, showcase the nearby parklands. At night, the kitchen, family room and bedroom catch a sparkling panorama that reaches across the LA basin, capturing the lights of Century City and downtown.

Created to take advantage of the temperate climate of southern California, the home supports indoor-outdoor living year round. Large windows and simple lines put nature, and the home's stunning views, front and center.

Although the property is located in Pacific Palisades, a neighborhood known for its older homes or newer homes built in the Cape Cod-style, the Studio William Hefner decided to put a contemporary spin on the design, looking to midcentury modern architecture for their inspiration.

The LA-based studio is comprised of husband and wife team William Hefner and Kazuko Hoshino. Hefner shoulders architectural duties, while Hoshino acts as the interior designer. A house is a building. It’s the people who live there who transform it into a home. Ideally, they can turn to an architect and an interior design to create a beautiful and functional space that supports their life. That was certainly the case for the owner of this home, designed by Studio William Hefner.
