Luminous Living In DiabloAuthor:Philip Ferrato
An East Bay couple, recent empty-nesters, came to designer Mead Quin of Mead Quin Design for a rejuvenated living/dining area that would be both fresh and sophisticated and a venue for their art collectio. The result is a warm, softly lit white space that glows, proving that a skillful designer can create a white room that’s more than just white. At top, light streams through the linen curtains created by Riitta Herwitz Design Support.
Sited on a carpet by Stark, the Ted Boerner/HEWN SF sectional sofa suits the room’s uneven proportions perfectly, next to slipper chairs in a soft blue/grey.
The marble dining table and chairs (by Emmanuel Gallina for the eminent Italian furniture manufacturer Poliform) gleam beneath a fixture by the Brooklyn (NY) firm of Zia-Priven.
