Open House Obsession: Kensington Mid-Century Gets a High-Style UpdateAuthor:Philip Ferrato
Where: 206 Yale Avenue, Kensington
When: Sunday, September 21 from 2:00pm to 4:30pm
What: This 1948 hillside house in Kensington had seen better days when interior designer and serial renovator Sean Gaston had his first look at it– but now there’s a new, open floor plan, a new kitchen, and a complete new color palette inside and out. Inside the front door, the stairs to the lower level were opened up with a half wall, visually creating a foyer that never previously existed:
Attention to Detail: Gaston has developed a signature palette of paint colors especially suited to the East Bay’s unique light and weather– for both interior and exterior– and, of course, the property comes with a touch-up kit for the new owners.
The 4-bed, 3-bath home is two stories in back, with a huge open view of the Bay:
