Mountainside Northstar Enlists Apple Store Architects For This Not So Typical ChaletAuthor:Philip Ferrato
A new collection of residences and townhomes – the Stellar Collection at Lake Tahoe’s renowned Mountainside Northstar – brings a crisp, hard edge to the modern day ski lodge. Designed by the San Francisco architects Bohlin Cywinski Jackson, a firm probably best known for its spectacular Apple retail stores in San Francisco and New York, the free-standing, 4-bed, 3.5-bath residences are about 3,400 square feet and offered at $3.995M each. At top and below, renderings of the luxurious but austere living/dining/kitchen spaces and the master bedroom.
The ski-in/ski-out properties are clustered together in the landscape.
The entire project will have LEED certification and is expected to be ready for occupancy in late 2015, plus the spectacular Ritz-Carlton Lake Tahoe is a short walk (or ski) away. Ownership also includes membership to the exclusive Tahoe Mountain Club. BCJ’s designs for the more compact townhomes (below) include the same exceptional design cred and details, and start at just over $2M.
More: Not just about skiing, Mountainside Northstar is a vast year-round resort community with something for everyone. The sales office for the Stellar Collection is Tahoe Mountain Realty, 3001 Northstar Drive in Truckee, plus the Ritz Carlton and The Village at Northstar both have showrooms.
