Tastemaker Tag Sales: 50 Percent Off Curated Designer Collections

It sounds like a fantasy: Interior designers such as Ann Getty, Kendall Wilkinson and Ken Fulk invite you to a tag sale, featuring huge markdowns on items from their stashes of one-of-a-kind samples and fantastic accessories purchased for the celebrity client who just can’t commit. This dream is now a reality, albeit online. The gurus behind One Kings Lane, the shopping site that offers high-end home goods at a steep discount, have launched Tastemaker Tag Sales on Saturdays, which feature a designer’s curated collection at 50 percent or more off the regular price. Shown here is a blue-and-white vase from Jingdezhen, China from the Ann Getty House Collection (retail, $1,144; tag sale price $572). Add in the prospect of shopping for such wares in your bathrobe, and you have a reason to get up early on the weekends. Sales start at 8 a.m. Saturday and run through Tuesday morning.
