East Comes West: Napa’s Kenzo Estate

Kenzo Estate is the result of a unique pairing of Northern California’s celebrated food and wine culture with the hospitality and history of Japan. Kenzo Tsujimoto, founder and chairman of Japan’s Capcom Group and a Napa Valley wine fanatic, assembled a team of the region’s best: consulting winemaker Heidi Barrett (Screaming Eagle, Niebaum-Coppola), vineyard manager David Abreu (Colgin Cellars, Staglin Family Vineyard), chef Thomas Keller (The French Laundry) and architects Backen, Gillam & Kroeger. Together, they’ve created a winery and tasting room amid 4,000 pristine acres on the slopes of Napa’s Mt. George.
