Guilty Pleasures from the Roman and Williams Portfolio
Author:Abigail StonePeeking inside the portfolio of Roman and Williams is like diving in to a big slice of decadent dessert. The rooms shift from rich and textured to light and luxurious, tastes melding together in easy, delicious harmony.
And of course it wouldn’t be dessert without a bit of guilty pleasure: For me, that would be attempting to solve the blind item-like descriptions of celebrity clientele behind each project. It’s like the thick layer of frosting at the end of a piece of cake: Who can resist? Take for instance the Tribeca penthouse that’s home to “an actress, her musician husband, and their children” (GP?), or the “celebrity couple” behind the New Moon Residence. (Robsten, is that you?)
But not to worry, I won’t be quitting my day job for gossip reporting just yet. Back to the decor. Above and below are just a few of my favorite images from the New York firm’s projects based here in California. Love the Moroccan textiles and piles of books. Each room feels pulled together yet also cozy and lived in–a rarity in most designer portfolios.
