OHIO Design’s New Olia Seating

No, we haven’t switched our name to Midwest Home + Design. Confusingly enough, OHIO Design is actually based out of San Francisco’s Mission District, and has been for about 10 years. The local furniture company focuses on building quality pieces out of sustainable materials, resulting in chic, urban-rustic styles that have garnered much praise and many a follower–including yours truly.

This past weekend OHIO previewed their new line of seating, Olia, and naturally I’m coveting each and every piece. How could you not adore those hardwood backs lovingly polished to a supple, warm glow courtesy of three coats of beeswax and orange oil? And sturdy, powder-coated steel bases are a realist’s–and frequent mover’s– dream; they’ll take a beating with little harm done.

The line includes a chair, barstool, and barstool with back that range in price from $275 to $325 for the standard configurations. And since each item is made to order, customized features like different woods and base colors won’t cost an extra arm and a leg. Stop by the studio if your in the city, or check out the full product line at their website.
