Summer Through the Ages
More than 100 vintage and contemporary prints that speak to the joy of long summer days are part of the “The Summer Show” at Scott Nichols Gallery in San Francisco, which opens Saturday.

Take it Outside

For a nostalgic summertime view with a slightly more sardonic twist, check out “In the Backyard” at San Francisco’s Arthaus. Chris Schiavo’s chromeogenic prints depict strange scenes from backyards in Brooklyn.

Show: REAL ESTATE

BBQ-Ready in St. Francis Wood
This Masten and Hurd–designed masterpiece from 1929 is tucked inside San Francisco’s St. Francis Wood and with its huge backyard complete with Spanish-tiled veranda, fountain and top-of-the-line grill, it’s a barbecuer’s paradise. The interiors aren’t too shabby either: 4 bedrooms and 5 baths over 9,000 square feet have been luxuriously refurbished while maintaining the Mediterranean charm of the original design. Open Sunday 1–4 p.m.
