Outdoor Room Contest Winner Announced!
Author:Lindsey ShookNearly 10,000 votes were cast in our latest Readers’ Choice Contest: Best Outdoor Room. From Zen backyard retreats to colorful party-ready patios, all of the entries made me yearn to get outside.
But there were a couple entries that got readers extra riled up, including our winner, who took the top spot with just under 3,500 votes: Number 7!! 
This simple city-centric escape was designed by Sean Quigley, a designer and the owner of San Francisco shop Paxton Gate. You can see additional pictures and read about what inspired the design in our upcoming September issue.
While Sean’s space certainly raked in a lot of votes, there was one other entry that was close on his tail. This next entry got 2,771 votes, a number that we think earned them a big congratulations if not the win. Number 8, the personal backyard of Wendy Womann has been a work in progress over the number of years she and her husband have lived in their home. Today is’ the ideal entertaining locale, complete with dining table, outdoor kitchen, fireplace and limitless comfy places to lounge. So congrats!!
