Niels Otto Møller Collection Debuts at DWR

What are your thoughts on the widespread omnipresence of mid-century modern home furniture? Some say the style’s resurgence has run its course. To that I say, pshaw. I’m all for embracing new looks, but I don’t see MCM design passing into the night anytime soon. The style’s clean lines and simple, functional pieces have a timeless appeal that, in my humble opinion, is built for the long haul, not just a passing trend.

I mean, have you seen Design Within Reach’s newest designer addition? First it’s Finn Juhl, now Niels Otto Møller. And there’s no denying the appeal of this stuff. The glowing, smooth wood, the cord seats, the attention to detail–these are heirloom pieces that stand the test of time, long after trends fade.

You can check out the entire selection at DWR. Oh, and act now on any mix of four specially marked chairs, stools, and tables, (including all the pieces in the Møller collection) and get 15 percent off during the company’s Seating and Dining Sale. Details here.

But tell me your thoughts. Are you so over MCM, or is your home currently Draper’d out?
