San Francisco’s 20th Century Modernism Show This Weekend

San Francisco is not a city short on antiques fairs. For starters, there’s old faithful in Alameda and the new upstart at Candlestick Park, both of which occur monthly. And if you attend just those two with any regularity, you know how quickly you can become addicted to going. So what’s an antique addict to do on the off-weeks between events? This weekend offers just the ticket, with the annual 20th Century Modernism Show & Sale pulling into Herbst Pavillion in Fort Mason.

Get on your walking shoes and explore aisle after aisle of 50 exhibitors, with local faves like Monument alongside national and international talent –it’s like 1stDibs come to life!

As the title makes clear, this show is all about design movements of the last century, with decorative and fine arts from the time period including furniture, photography, design clothing, and much, much more. Plus, new this year is a special exhibition called 21 Pop, a marketplace of up-and-coming craftspeople offering the collectibles of the future. I’m both exhausted and totally pumped at the thought of it.

The preview gala is this Thursday, the 16th, with regular admission starting Friday at 11 a.m. and continuing through the weekend. So will you make it?
