A Look Inside Showtime’s 2010 Showhouse
Author:Abigail StoneOkay, while this doesn’t technically take place in California, it will feel close to home to any of you with premium cable. Showtime has taken over three penthouses in NYC’s Cassa Hotel, giving designers free reign to go reinvent the spaces as inspired by their favorite shows from the channel. With original series like Dexter, Nurse Jackie, Weeds, and Californication, you’re guaranteed some pretty out there rooms, but also an interesting study in merging interior design with pop culture. Here are a few of my favorites from the showhouse:
A foliage-filled room that pays homage to Weeds, designed by John Loecke Interior Design.
Dexter would likely feel quite at home in this creepy “refuge” designed by Jeff Andrews.
Proceeds from ticket sales benefit Harlem Children’s Zone, a non-profit working to provide education, social, and community-building services to at-risk youth in Central Harlem. So if you’re in the New York area now through October 23rd, stop over on a Saturday to check it out.
No big city plans in the near future? You can see more photos of the showhouse at the L.A. Times and Apartment Therapy.
