Author:

Now is about the time in the work week where your energy shifts toward vacation dreaming. To help you in that pursuit, we’re introducing a new weekly feature: “Fly Away Friday.” Each Friday afternoon, we’ll highlight a hotel or resort we’ve got our design-eye on, and include some drool-worthy pictures for your pining.

So without further adieu, we bring you the lovely Hotel Boca Chica in Acapulco.

Acapulco’s comeback is as well-timed as it is stylishly groomed. Mexican hospitality group Grupo Habita enlisted architect Fernando Romero and designers Frida Escobedo and José Rojas to revive the Hotel Boca Chica, one of the area’s former hotspots. Each of the 36 rooms in the newly opened resort, now a member of Design Hotels, features a mix of old and new—original midcentury lattice brickwork, modern furnishings and luxurious amenities; Punta Caletilla, Fraccionamiento las Playas, Acapulco, 52-744-482-7879, hotel-bocachica.com.
