Drinks By Design This Wednesday

When I learned about the monthly design-centered happy hour event, Drinks by Design, I couldn’t help but think that they’d invented it just for me. I mean, what do I love more than

an after-work cocktail, yammering on about design and scoping out the newest restaurants and bars around San Francisco?

And while I know that it wasn’t actually me that founder Jeff Morter  (of Barbara Scavullo Design) was thinking about when he decided to start the event, it was definitely the hundreds of people just like me in the Bay Area. He says he started Drinks By Design to bring local design, architectural and engineering communities together—over free cocktails of course.

The next event is this coming Wednesday at the LEED Gold certified Bar Agricole on Folsom, an extremely appropriate venue considering nearly a dozen designers had a hand in putting it together, many of whom are even part owners in the venture. (I wrote about Bar Agricole’s unique, design-centered concept for both the current issue of 7×7 and the forthcoming Nov/Dec issue of CH+D).

CH+D is also the media sponsor of this Wednesday’s Drinks By Design, so plenty of complimentary magazines will be on hand, as well as cards to sign up for a completely free one-year subscription.

You can email Drinks By Design to get on the guest list for this month’s event, as well as sign up to hear about future events. And I hope to see you on Wednesday!
