Skip Black Friday: Try Stress-Free Saturday InsteadAuthor:Abigail Stone
There’s nothing better than the joy of feasting with family and friends. Rather than worrying about if everyone likes their gifts, this week’s stress-free holiday is all about sitting back, relaxing, and tucking in to a boatload of food in the company of loved ones. So why would anyone would want to ruin the post-Thanksgiving buzz with a 3am wake-up call, crushing crowds, and flying elbows on Black Friday?
If you’re in San Francisco this weekend, there’s the perfect antidote: a pop-up shop at 3 Fish Studios. Take Friday to hike off some of that stuffing or, conversely, get first dibs at those leftovers. Then Saturday, head to the American Industrial Center in Dogpatch. There will be no big screen TVs at low, low prices here; instead you’ll find handmade treasures made by artists like Amy Ruppel, Diana Fayt, Mati McDonough, and the husband-and-wife team behind 3 Fish Studios, Annie Galvin and Eric Rewitzer. You’ll be supporting independent artists and saving yourself from getting into a fight with some pushy lady over the last Bieber figurine–a reason to be thankful, indeed.
