Pot + Pantry Now OnlineAuthor:Abigail Stone
While it’s true I like cooking, what I really love is cookware. Whereas a recipe (not to mention my kitchen skills) has been known to let me down, a weathered wooden spoon or vintage Dansk pot never does. And both look just as good today as they did when they were made — try saying that about a meal.
So when I heard of a spot in the Mission that carries a brilliant mix of vintage and new cooking items, I had to check it out. Inside Pot + Pantry you can find lovingly worn cutting boards, Fire King, and vintage kitchen gadgets alongside new pieces and even some locally produced edibles — it’s a dream for cooks and cookware-lovers alike. Storeowner Donna Suh Wageman honed her skills as a buyer for Williams-Sonoma, so you know she has an eye for the quality goods. And now you can find a selection of the store’s offerings online, in the newly opened Pot + Pantry web store. Above, a few of my favorites on there now.
Clockwise from top: Pig Cutting Board, $32; Vintage Eggbeater, $18; Slim Pot, $65; Flat Edged Spoon, $28; Fire King Jadeite Pie Pan, $40; Teak Measuring Spoons, $19; Pastry Scraper, $7.50
