Peace Industry Rugs Releases Three New Spring DesignsAuthor:Marissa Gluck
San Francisco-based rug designer Peace Industry released their new spring collection of handmade felt rugs this week. Like the rest of their rugs, these are made from lamb’s wool with natural dyes, so they’re chemical-free. They’re also Fair Trade, so you can feel good about purchasing them from the husband-and-wife team behind the company, Melina and Dodd Raissnia. Melina, inspired by ancient nomadic textiles, designs the rugs with a more contemporary look. Husband Dodd works with the artisans in Turkey, adhering to Fair Trade practices. The two are moving to Barcelona this fall to open a new store in Spain, and currently have a showroom in San Francisco’s Hayes Valley. The rugs are available online, with an eight-week lead time and both size and color can be customized. Below find a few of the new designs.
