Inspiration is often a prerequisite for scientific breakthroughs. But sometimes the breakthroughs themselves can inspire creation. The Molecule lighting collection from Aqua Creations and the Watson Table by Paul Loebach are fine examples of science inspiring design.

The Watson Table is named after James Watson, the American scientist famous for discovering the the double helix structure of DNA. The legs of the table are meant to mimic that structure.

The new Molecule lighting collection by Aqua Creations, have diamond-patterned lamp shades made from paper meant to mimic the look of a molecule. Above is the Molecule Floor Lamp.
