Legends of La Cienega Celebrates L.A. Art, Plus Bonus ArtWalk This Weekend

This weekend is shaping up to be one of those where design and art aficionados will want to be everywhere at once. First, the third annual design event, Legends of La Cienega begins Friday and continues through Monday. The design celebration includes special exhibitions, book signings, panel discussions on art, fashion, architecture and decor.

Presented by the La Cienega Design Quarter‘s 50 member businesses, this year’s theme is “Celebrate Art: Leading Designers Honor Legendary Artists.” To honor the theme, the event’s charity benefactor is The Art of Elysium, an organization that simultaneously supports medically disabled children and emerging artists.

Event highlights this year include a window display campaign featuring vignettes by designers inspired by their favorite artists presented by GOOP fave, One Kings Lane, a tastemaker “Tag Sale” to benefit the Art of Elysium, a large scale installation of art by Anthony James, and plenty of panel discussions (CH+D Editor Erin Feher will be moderating a steamy one on Saturday at the Waterworks showroom called Sex Up Your Space with panelists Charles de Lisle, Erinn Valencich and Megan Arquette of beachbungalow8.blogspot.com).

Most of the events are free, and tickets are available here.

In addition to all that free accessibility, LACMA is also hosting several site specific dance performances that day and about 20 galleries are also participating.
