Design Diary: Tiato’s Kitchen Bar Garden

A formerly dowdy lunch cafeteria in Santa Monica was transformed into Tiato Kitchen Bar Garden. Restaurateur and designer Catherine An—the daughter of chef Helene An, matriarch of the restaurant group House of An (Crustacean, AnQi)—breathed new life into the boxy space and surrounding concrete courtyard with reclaimed wood and plenty of pots and planters overflowing with fresh herbs.
