Stylish Summer Furniture
Author:Lindsey ShookI’m a modernist, but as Memorial Day draws closer I get sentimental about old-fashioned summers and start dreaming of sipping cold lemonade, hot days and hanging out on the front porch. The new outdoor furniture line from Los Angeles interior designer Kristen Panitch is fueling these fantasies.
The beauty of the pieces is that they are updated takes on classic wicker furniture, so they satisfy cravings for both modernist and classic aesthetics. Check out the Ellsworth chair above and you’ll see what I mean.
The designer came up with the line to satisfy her clients’ needs for outdoor furniture that is beautiful, functional and durable. The Chatham sofa, seen here at Panitch’s personal home, is made for reading a novel on a summer afternoon.
The distressed black finish on the pieces give them a down-to-earth feeling that’s seasonally appropriate. You can also tell by the cushions that the designer had comfort in mind when she created the Miller chair and ottoman.
Prices start at $1,810 for smaller pieces and rise into the $3,000 range for chairs. The line is available at Hollywood at Home in L.A.
