Design Dilema: Kitchen Storage
Author:Lindsey ShookIf you have ever peered under the hood over your cooktop, you’ve likely noticed there’s not much under the big (and getting bigger) canopy. Two Bay Area powerhouses have joined forces to make the range hood work harder.
This is a case where pictures really are worth 1,000 words. Presenting the Cache.
Obviously, the storage makes clever use of what would otherwise be dead space. But I also love the placement—what better spot to stash some salt than above the stovetop?
The design is the brainchild of Fu-Tung Cheng, who has created an entire line for Zephyr. The designer has lofty goals for the utiliarian items. He says: “I hope they will open people’s minds and change the way they see the world around them.”
The Cache, which retails for $1,638, is available at Pacific Sales.
