A Night at the Opera

Author:

The LA Opera will kick off its new season with the company premiere of Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin. The performance promises some action with swashbuckling duels and ice skating (sort of). To mimic a Russian winter, the stage crew has constructed a faux frozen pond where the performers will glide on rollerblades disguised as ice skates. Sept. 17-Oct. 9, 135 North Grand Ave., LA, laopera.com.
