Look Inside: CH+D’s November/December Issue

Author:

Here at the office we wait, not always patiently, for the arrival of each new issue. Yesterday was no exception. With the November/December issue scheduled to be distributed at the SF Fall Antiques Show (which starts today), its somewhat sluggish journey from the presses in Las Vegas to our offices in San Francisco had us a little nervous to say the least.

But it showed up just in the nick of time, and we couldn’t have been more excited. You would think, after having read each story no less than 10 times during the editing process, that seeing the final product would be somewhat anticlimactic, but it’s just the opposite. We squealed with delight (and assistant editor Bryan Anthony takes the title of loudest and most emphatic squealer) as we flipped through the pages and reread some of our favorite pieces:

The reveal of the ten winners of the 2011 Hit List, all nominated and voted on by you, our readers!

A dark, slightly twisted peek behind the curtain of Ken Fulk’s opening party for Peep Show, his new showroom.

Formerly the tripped-out pad of the lead singer of The Fifth Dimension (Age of Aquarius, anybody?), this Encino house got a mod makeover from interior designer Cari Berg.

Cocktail recipes from a bartender with Oakland’s Boot and Shoe, mixed up for a party at the home of a couple of former Facebookers, designed by Lauren Geremia (and our cover story).

Our Members Only Gift Guide, with the best products in every price range. And starting Monday, October 31, you can enter to win six of the products featured! Just click back over to californiahomedesign.com  on Monday for details.

Formerly five units, now one serious family fort, this whimsical house in Venice was designed by Vanessa de Vargas of Turquoise.

Flip through the entire issue here. We hope you have as much fun doing so as we did!
