Millworks LA Brings SoCal Sunshine to San Francisco
Author:Lindsey ShookMillworks LA is movin’ on up, as they say. The Los-Angeles-based textile producer has opened a new shop-in-shop in one of the hottest new furniture stores in San Francisco: H.D. Buttercup (another LA export). For those of you looking to combat SF’s dreary, misty winter days, the label’s cheery new collection offers just the dose of vibrancy and effervescence that you need.
Designed by textile designer Andrea Bernstein, former director of design at Chris Stone Textiles, the vintage-inspired, Sharpie-drawn designs feature botanical prints such as dahlias, peonies, weeds and wild flowers, as well as peace signs and abstract and geometric patterns. There’s a very Warhol-meets-Pucci moment happening. Moreover, with palettes of bluebird blues, beach-ready pinks, and stoplight yellows, there’s nothing shy about them.
Oversize pillows (100% cotton with 95% feather/5% down filling) range from $58 to $78, king duvet covers are $230, and sham sets are $75. All are made with eco-friendly, water-based inks. Much cheaper than a weekend getaway to SoCal, eh? But if you’re in LA, you can swoop up the bright, young things at the H.D. Buttercup location there, as well.
