Go Inside the To-Die-For Closet of the Joe’s Jeans Designers
Author:Lindsey ShookAs the owners and designers of the luxury denim brand, Joe’s Jeans, it would only make sense that Joe and Ambre Dahan would want to pay full attention to their closet space while undergoing a full-space renovation of their Hollywood Hills pad.
In order to transform the Dahan’s modestly sized wardrobe space, which was cramped with denim and sneakers into a well-organized and eye-pleasing area, LA closet designer Lisa Adams came up with a strategic design to accommodate both his and her belongings. Here’s how she did it!
Adams chose austere custom cabinetry of white lacquered wood to coordinate the look of the closet with the rest of the home’s redesigned interiors. Mirrored back panels were incorporated in order to create an open sense of space and to enhance a multi-dimensional view of the couple’s clothing.
L-shaped hanging rods and shelves were added to provide ample storage and to maximize under utilized corner spaces. To balance the elements, Adams incorporated an L-shaped cantilevered black velvet bench, which also provides a comfy spot for putting on shoes.
Smaller organizational details like his and her sunglass drawers, a hanging scarf rod and an integrated safe drawer help to streamline the closet space. The installation of dimmable LED light ribbons in dark hanging spaces ensure that everything is in plain sight.
Adding to the overall pristine look, a rectangular chandelier overhead and a flat front floating drawer with soft touch mechanism were implemented to give those final touches of Hollywood glamour.
After work was complete on the master closet, Adams went to work in the guest bedroom to design a TV wardrobe (pictured above). Three ten-foot high doors from wall to wall line one side of the room. A 55″ television, hanging rods, drawer for AV equipment, media shelves, laundry drawer and a safe drawer are all strategically hidden from view behind the sliding panels.
