Soak in a day of culture once each month by wandering through downtown LA on a self-guided tour. Get the scoop on what to see this this Thursday!

The Downtown Art Walk showcases the many art exhibition sites, galleries and other special events on the second Thursday of every month. With the next one just around the corner—this Thursday, April 12—we’ve rounded up some of our favorite, must-see attractions for you.

The Guide:

1. Opening – Recaptured Ends: New Works by Ching Ching Cheng & Simone Shin
The show, which runs to May 2012, features the beautiful etchings, paintings and sculptures of two groundbreaking LA-based friends and artists. Reception begins at 7 p.m. and runs until 9 p.m. DAC Gallery, 828 S. Main Street, Los Angeles.

2. Second Annual Framework Pop-Up Gallery
In honor of photography month, the Los Angeles Times and Ketel One present their second installment of the special, one-night pop-up gallery during the Art Walk. Framework puts the world we live in on display via photography, video and multimedia. Expect some added visual surprises this year thanks to the designers at Aphidoidea. Los Angeles Times Building, 202 W. 1st St., Los Angeles

3. ANSEL ADAMS: Los Angeles
This Thursday’s Art Walk will be one of the last chances to see Ansel Adams’ rarely seen photographs – the exhibit will close for good just nine days after. Revealing a lost landscape and lifestyle of a prewar Los Angeles, the nostalgic images, sourced from the archives of The Los Angeles Public Library Ansel Adams Collection, represent Ansel Adams as a photojournalist on assignment for Fortune Magazine in 1940. drkrm, 727 S. Spring St., Los Angeles

4. Art Walk Lounge
As the official “Visitor’s Center” of the Downtown Los Angeles Art Walk, the Art Walk Lounge is a great place to find friends, listen to live music and view showcased art from all over the map. On April 12, Street King will be sampling mixes at the Lounge from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Art Walk Lounge,  634 S. Spring Street, Los Angeles

5. Truckit Fest Artwalk
The creation of Phillip Dane (founder of the LA Flea Market at Dodger Stadium and The Fairfax High Flea Market), the Truckit Fest brings together the best of Los Angeles’ food trucks, local art and live music at the Downtown Art Walk. Check out all of the vendors (nearly 50 pop-ups offering handmade and local goods) and more than 20 food trucks in the Artwalk Dearden’s Lot off Main Street. Artwalk Dearden’s Lot, 700 S. Main Street, Los Angeles
